Plan Ahead Your Night-Long No-Sleeping Marathon

This might sound crazy, but it's absolutely beneficial for you to know that you will have to stay awake all night on a certain day of the week. For example, if it's Tuesday today and you know that an assignment is due on Thursday but you've got a hectic schedule because the exams are approaching. So you know that you will have to stay awake all night long on Wednesday. This allows you to prepare your mind and body for that all nighter. Thus, you will be ready for it and you will be able to perform more efficiently on the task at hand.

Focus on mental and physical preparation: If you just realized it on the day itself, that's ok. Do not stress yourself out and clear your mind. Quickly accept the fact that the all nighter has to be done (especially if you really don't have a choice but to go through with it) and prevent doing anything that will wipe out the energy in you. Avoid walking long distances which might wear you out.

If naps refreshes you, go ahead and take a good afternoon nap. *Remember, naps aren't for everyone, and only take a nap if you are one who feels energized after it. If the ride back home from school or work by bus or train takes an hour or so, go ahead and sleep on the journey home. Do not sit down to relax and watch TV when you get back home. Instead, work on what needs to be done, immediately and try to get it done as fast as possible. The more you do now, the less you will have to do later in the evening when you're even more tired.
